About

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 60’s to a woman whose parents offered to buy her a brand new Corvette to not marry my father.  My parents were married in April and I was born that same October.  The funny thing is that it took me about 25 years to figure out that my mother was pregnant with me on her wedding day.  We’ve never discussed it but I’m pretty offended at all the anti-premarital sex lectures and judgement-passing that went on at my house considering.

I have one younger brother and one younger sister and we’re all pretty fucked up by a lot of peoples standards.  In 1999 I e-met this cool guy who kinda straighted me out and now I’m just trying to make up for all the years I wasted.

I moved to Chicago in 2001 and love it here.  I remember telling my mother years ago that there was some sort of mistake and that God put me in the wrong place because I was never meant to be raised in the south.  I’m beginning to move past my adolecent hatred for the south and my parents and even though my father told me that I should “write on the side and keep my real job”, I hope that one day I’ll be able to pay the bills sitting on my ass writing all day.  Hey, a girl can dream, right?
